Type: 2 x 360 Degree Rotary Encoder Module, Model: KY-040, Working Voltage: 5V, Number of Pulses per Circle: 20 Purpose: The rotary encoder can count the amount of output pulses in both positive and negative rotation directions. The number of rotations is unlimited. An incremental encoder is a rotary sensor that converts rotational displacement into a series of digital pulse signals. These pulses are used to control angular displacement. The reading system generally uses differential mode to compare two different waveforms, but the phase difference is 180 degrees, in order to improve the quality and stability of the output signal. With the knob on the rotary encoder, it can be reset to the initial state, which starts counting from 0.
