SUSAN DORAN is a Senior Research Fellow at Jesus College University of Oxford UK. She is the author of many books and articles on the Tudor period including Monarchy and Matrimony: The Courtships of Elizabeth I Elizabeth I in the British Library Historic Lives series and Mary Queen of Scots: An Illustrated Life. She is the co-editor (with Thomas S. Freeman) of The Myth of Elizabeth and Tudors and Stuarts on Film (Palgrave Macmillan). THOMAS S. FREEMAN was the Research Officer for the British Academy John Foxe Project and is now affiliated with the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge University. He is the co-editor (with Thomas F. Mayer) of Martyrs and Martyrdom in England 1400-1700 and (with Susan Doran) of The Myth of Elizabeth and Tudors and Stuarts on Film.
