BLACKCURRANT Ben Alder \nAnother of the “Ben” series bred at the Scottish Crop Research Institute. \nA high yielding variety, Ben Alder is very popular with commercial growers. \nProduces very heavy crops of small to medium sized berries late in the season and in trials in Norfolk it was proclaimed the highest yielding variety. \nThe fruit has a good stable colour, a typical blackcurrant flavour and a very high juice content rich in vitamin C. \nStrong and vigorous Ben Alder shows good disease resistance particularly to mildew and leaf spot. \nAs with all blackcurrants it likes a site in full sun with moist but well drained soil. \nBen Alder will tolerate most soil types but in common with other currants has a strong dislike of waterlogged areas. \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in full fruit and are for illustration purposes only, they may not reflect plants at all times of the year. \nPack 1 Bare-root Plant \nEnsure season \nORDER IMMEDIATELY \n \nU.K.  \nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Blackcurrant plants are checked and inspected visually before packing. .
